Hidden beaches in Croatia
Away from the busy town beaches, Croatia has quiet coves that take a little more effort to reach — and reward it.
Every beach here has precise GPS coordinates, so even the hard-to-find spots are easy to navigate to.

What 'hidden' means in Croatia
The truly secret spots are rarely on maps. What you can find are beaches that most visitors skip: coves at the end of a gravel track, bays below a footpath, pebble strips you can only reach on foot or by boat.
Even in August, these places can be nearly empty while the town beach a kilometre away is shoulder to shoulder. The effort of getting there is the filter.
How to reach them
Expect the last stretch to be on foot — anything from a five-minute path to a 30-minute hike. Wear proper shoes for the walk and change at the water. Some of the best coves are easiest by kayak or small boat, which you can rent in most coastal towns.
Use the GPS coordinates on each beach page and download the map offline before you go — mobile signal is unreliable in remote bays.
What to bring
Hidden beaches have no facilities: no bar, no toilets, no shade rental. Bring water, snacks, sun protection and take everything back with you. That is the deal that keeps them beautiful.
Good to know
- Save the GPS coordinates offline — signal is weak in remote coves.
- Bring everything: water, food, shade. There are no facilities.
- Proper shoes for the path down; flip-flops for the beach only.
- Pack out everything you pack in.
